NOTE FROM KAYLA
I made this chart for me to use with my own kitties and thought it might be helpful for others as well. Since I was already making for myself, I am giving if out for free, but if you would like to add a contribution to this download, I have added a “Thank You Donation” option as an add-on. I hope you find this chart to be helpful! - Kayla <3

Why Kayla?
The short answer? I have spent entirely too much of my life working with cats.
The long answer?
I have lived and breathed "all things cats” since 1999 when I adopted my first cats. It wasn’t until 2022 when I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder that realized cats were my special interest, also called a “hyper-focus”.
Having an autistic hyper-focus in cats has proven to be a powerful asset when it comes to understanding feline behavior. This deep, sustained focus allows for intense observation, pattern recognition, and attention to subtle details that others might overlook—like shifts in body language, micro-expressions, or changes in routine.
Rather than getting bored or distracted, with this kind of focus I have spent years of my life learning, researching, and connecting with cats on their own terms. It’s not just passion—it’s precision. My “Pawtistic” perspective of different situations often leads to insights and intuitive understanding that can make a real difference in helping both cats and their humans thrive together.
The Meowtessori Way
Much like the Montessori philosophy for children, my approach to cat consulting focuses on respecting your cat’s natural tendencies, creating an enriching environment, and fostering independence and confidence.
Instead of forcing behavior to change through punishment or control. I use your cat’s natural instincts, preferences, and developmental needs to create a happier home for everyone.
During a Happy Cat Consultation, my goals are:
Listen and observe without judgment to best understand your cat’s life and surroundings
Encourage creating intentional spaces that allow for exploration, play, and rest
Empower choice and autonomy, while encouraging gentle behavioral changes using positive reinforcement
Recognize your cat’s pace and personality, and meet them where they are
The result? A calmer, more connected relationship where your cat feels safe, understood, and confident in their world—and you feel equipped to support them with empathy and clarity.
