The Cat Executive Officer
Meet Kayla.
Kayla was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where her love for animals began early, adopting her first cats at the age of five. But those two cats were just the start of special interest. As soon as she was old enough, she started volunteering with animal rescues, a passion that remained constant throughout her life.
In high school, Kayla discovered a deep love for film, eventually becoming the president of her university’s film production company. She graduated from Georgia College & State University in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, specializing in advertising and public relations. Less than a month before graduating, she married her high school sweetheart. They went on to spend six years moving across the country while her husband served in the Navy.
In 2019, fate brought her back to Atlanta, and that’s where she remains today with her husband, two kids, five cats, and snake named Cheesestick. After returning to Georgia, she was diagnosed with autism and ADHD. It has been an experience that has helped her better understand herself and the unique perspective she brings to the world. She’s known for using that creative perspective to create hilarious, over-the-top cat descriptions and narrated cat videos, earning her a following of over 800,000 and millions upon millions of views.
Vet bills don’t pay for themselves though. Since 2019, Kayla has worked as a human resources professional. However, her ultimate dream is to leave the corporate world behind and spend her days writing children’s books and bringing her creative visions to life. When she’s not working, “momming”, and herding the Chaos Clowder, she enjoys playing video games, reading, and rotating through her ever-expanding list of hyper-interests, including cross-stitching, poetry, drawing, and rockhounding.
